Orders pouring in for Mesamche Lev Power Mall gifts
Just two days after the launching of Mesamche Lev’s Power Auction, the organization’s phone lines are humming with orders for Power Mall merchandise. Donors are accumulating Reward Points with each dollar donated to the auction; and using their points to pay for exciting items including giftware, electronics, toys, linen, and more.
Pessy W. of Williamsburg had the honor of being the first caller. She donated $180, earning 180 Reward Points. She redeemed one hundred points for a stunning designer Shagreen tray she had seen in a high-end gift shop, and used sixty points for a Rubik’s Cube safe.
“I feel like I won the auction already,” she says. The sentiment was shared by many others. Some said it was the first time they were receiving free gifts from an auction.
“I usually skip the free gifts section in auction books, because I know I can’t get one,” said Nosson T., who earned sixty Reward Points with his donation. “It feels fantastic to be part of it.” Nosson chose a copy of Tzidkas Rebbe Zalman, a fascinating Yiddish biography of Rabbi Zalman Ashkenazi, zatzal.
Larger donors were similarly pleased. Tovia S., who donated $1800, earned double Reward Points, granting him thirty six hundred Power Mall Reward Points. He chose a free weekend in the Raleigh Hotel for 2500 points, and still had over one thousand points to spend.
“I’m treating my newlywed daughter and her husband to a getaway. I’m also surprising my wife with a stunning ice bucket set, and getting myself an Oz Vehadar Shas. That’s just part of it.”
Mesamche Lev is thrilled to see the positive response to the Power Mall.
“It’s our way of giving back to our donors,” says Rabbi Zvi Friedman, Executive Director. “Every dollar donated earns a Reward Point, but the true reward is eternal. Power Auction participants are earning the zechus of feeding hungry children and helping almonos, yesomim, and poor families.”
