 “On Purim, I felt like there was a glass window between me and the world. Everyone was so happy, but the joy didn’t touch me. I had nothing. My husband was dead and my children had nothing to eat.
Then Mesamche Lev delivered a large check. In an instant, the Purim spirit washed over me. I gathered my children, took them to the store, and bought delicious food. I treated everyone to chocolate – even me! Then we saw a beggar (someone who looked worse off than me!) and gave him two shekels. That was my matanos l’evyonim. I felt almost rich, with money in my pocket to last a bit.”!
